I apologize for the long delay in sharing this with all of you, especially my dear brothers, who are undoubtedly keeping a meticulous count of the days this overdue message has been pending. Life has a way of keeping us occupied, but as they say, “Better late than never.” So, without further ado, here is my very first attempt to convey something deeply personal and meaningful.
In the span of the last six years, my understanding of what constitutes a “home” has undergone a remarkable transformation. Each time I have carefully packed my life into a suitcase, bid adieu to familiar streets and friendly faces, and embarked on a new adventure, I found myself pondering what awaited me at the next destination.
However, today I can proudly declare that I have experienced substantial personal growth through this process. With each new challenge, I unearthed a fresh facet of myself. I transitioned from a young, naive girl into a confident woman, all while creating indelible memories that will forever be etched in my heart.
Over the course of these recent years, the term “leaving” has assumed a new significance for me. I’ve developed a complex love-hate relationship with this word. I detest the idea of parting ways with dear friends, the comfort of familiar smiles, and the known streets that have shaped my past. Yet, paradoxically, I’ve come to cherish the act of leaving as well. It’s become a profound love affair with the thrill of a move—a new challenge, fresh beginnings, uncharted territories, and, above all, a brand new adventure.
Every time we had to uproot ourselves, I would habitually turn to my husband with the same exclamation, “Oh no, why again?” But in retrospect, I am overwhelmed by the realization that starting afresh each time has propelled me out of my comfort zone, forcing me to adapt and thrive in ways I could never have fathomed.
My journey persists, and I invite you all to return to this page time and again.
